Get Involved
You can get involved in the Park City Sweep in a number of ways! The event is truly about community involvement, and without neighborhood residents, the Park City Sweep would not be possible. Not only do we need your muscle power to help clean-up the city, we also need your ideas! What can you do?
Volunteer: The Park City Sweep usually involves 150-200 volunteers each event. You can even help us recruit volunteers. If you are involved in a neighborhood group, a community center, a school club, or church service, you could tell your friends about the event.
Organize a Site: With so many people looking to volunteer, we need sites to clean. If you want to volunteer, maybe we can help you volunteer in your own neighborhood. Do you walk by a dirty playground everyday or pass a park strewn with trash on your way to work? We can provide you with tools, garbage bags, and gloves to clean up that eye sore. Ask your neighbors to pitch in, and by working together, we can have the site looking better in a day.
Sweep a Street: Unfortunately many of the streets in Bridgeport could use a good cleaning, especially in the spring as the weather is warming up. The Park City Sweep is the perfect event to get involved in your neighborhood and give the area a good spring cleaning. Again, Groundwork can provide you with the essentials such as garbage bags and gloves. We will even send the city to pick up the bags of trash you collect. You can ask your friends, family, and neighbors to help. If you need more volunteers, we can help you pass out flyers and knock on doors to get more people involved.

What Now? The Park City Sweep takes place once in April and once in October. At the beginning
of each month, watch for our official date. Then, call our office to let us know you want in on the big day! Be sure to call us early, especially if you have a large group so we can make the most out of your efforts.
