Join Groundwork Bridgeport in planting 15 trees at Seaside Park as part of a larger effort to expand Bridgeport’s tree canopy. Seaside park is a 325-acre public park located along Long Island Sound in Bridgeport, Connecticut with a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. The park is enjoyed year-round by so many Bridgeport residents. The park caters to a variety of uses from walking and jogging, to family barbecues, recreational sports leagues and fishing. These tree plantings will eventually create a substantial tree canopy on the site, and offer many environmental benefits to the community at large and to park users by improving air quality, cooling the air, reducing flooding, and increasing people’s overall physical and mental wellness. No previous experience is necessary to participate, as all tools and instructions will be provided.
