Groundwork Bridgeport, Henkel employees, and community members will join forces to plant 15 trees at BJ Brown Park as part of a larger effort to expand Bridgeport’s tree canopy. No previous experience is necessary to participate, as all tools and instructions will be provided.

BJ Brown is a 1-acre public park adjacent to the newly opened Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, and Central High School. These tree plantings will eventually create a substantial tree canopy on the site, and offer many environmental benefits to the community at large and to park users by improving air quality, cooling the air, reducing flooding, and increasing people’s overall physical and mental wellness.
